What are some Valentine’s Day dance decorations?

We are having a high school dance at a really fancy hall, like with a red carpet and roses scattered on the floor, and roses centerpieces. Do you have any ideas that involve kisses (besides hershey kisses) or roses? (the theme is “kiss from a rose”) any ideas would be help and be appreciated!!!

Well, I would maybe put a balloon arch that is shaped in a heart (that’s what we did last year), a balloon drop, an ice sculpture (everyone loved it wen we did it). For the dessert table u can have lip and heart shaped cookies. In Paris you know how a guy pushes around a flower cart selling flowers well u can do that and sell roses for 50 cents. Also, if u have little circle tables off to the side u can put a red or white table cloth on it and have a bowl of water with rose petals and floating candles in it and put a dash of glitter so it would look like the water is sparkling. Lastly, just have tons of red and romantic looking things!!!

Hope u have a great dance!!!!!!

How to buy roses for Valentine’s Day without paying too much

http://www.howdini.com/howdini-video-6637626.html

If you’re buying red roses for Valentine’s Day, get ready for sticker shock–and we’re not talking about the thorns. Floral Designer Rebecca Cole has great tips to help you get the most for your money.

How to buy roses for Valentine’s Day without paying too much

* Roses come in ten different grades and many different lengths; the higher the grade, the higher the price.

* A low-grade rose, like those at a grocery store, is not even bred to open and will never blossom. A rose from your florist has a big gorgeous head and will fully open, but it may cost $8 to $15 per rose.

* The longer the stem, the more youll pay. If you want high-grade roses, order them from a florist, but ask the florist for a shorter stem.

* If you dont want to spend a lot of money for your flowers, but you still want to buy roses, mix them with other flowers like carnations, ranunculus and tulips. But do remember that all red flowers will cost more on Valentines day.

* When you buy roses for a Valentine who lives in your town, order from a local florist. And if youre ordering flowers online, remember that shipping is going to cost you extra.

* Ask for no filler. Greens are okay, but babys breath is very uncool. And remember, you get what you pay for.

What kind of homemade Valentines decorations can you make at home?

We have one small child–girl 3 and a half.

A few years ago I made what I called “101 reasons”. It was jar and inside on 101 slips of paper, I wrote on each piece a reason why I loved him. All different. Can be done easily with the computer. Get different colored paper. On each one I hole punched a hole and put a slip of ribbon on each one. Makes it look fancier. If you really really love the guy. Make 365 reasons, one fore each day of the year. Takes some work but really appreciated because it shows it took time and alot of effort. Anyway, thats what I did. Didn’t have a lot of money. Bought a card with it.
And GUYs this is a great idea for your girl as well.

Valentine craft ideas: How to make your own Valentines Day gifts

http://www.howdini.com/howdini-video-6639064.html

When you care enough to send the very best valentines…why not make them yourself? The very crafty Bruce Littlefield, author of Garage Sale America, has lots of ideas to inspire you to make your own valentine gifts.

Here are some easy Valentines Day ideas for gifts you can make yourself:

* Save the really special leftover ribbon from Christmas, spool it up, and write some love notes on it with a black Sharpie pen. Use a red envelope, leave a bit of ribbon peeking out.

* For a special touch, you can use sentimental items from trips for your valentines. How about using a seashell you found on the beach together to make a fortune cookie valentine? As above, start with a pretty ribbon, write a love letter on it, roll it up and stick in inside a seashell. Leave a bit of ribbon sticking out, and as it unspools, it reveals your love note.

* Fore a valentine craft that keeps on giving, you can make your own valentines in a tissue box. You write on each tissue by opening up the side of the box, write on each one, and stick them back in. Each pop up tissue has an I love you message.

* Or go to the crafts store, get some foam core, decorate around the border with red feathers or something fun, then write on the foam core and you’ve got a big homemade valentine gift.

* Finally, if you’re artsy, go to an art supply store, get a canvas, and paint a personal valentine on it.
