Valentine’s Crafts for Children | Heart Blot Painting by Cullen’s Abc’s

Hi there! You can find more Valentine’s crafts and activities for children over at http://www.youtube.com/view_play_list?p=C898FEF5A0BCD53E

Heart Blot Painting is a Valentine-themed activity you can do with your child. As an art project, it gives your child a chance to express themselves through their imagination. Art allows preschoolers to explore and understand their world through creative experiences that emphasize the process of art, not the product. When your child is creating there is no right or wrong way, only their way. (Art instruction does not have specific guide lines for children to follow like a craft.) Art allows your child to be free in their creative mind.

What are some good valentine’s day party games and ideas?`?

Its for the 6th grade so no little kid games. No crafts unless there really good. What are some good games for them?

I’ve tried to include a variety. These should be suitable for your age group. Some may seem like they are for younger children, but you can adapt it to make it fit your group.

Have a jar of candy heart or kisses and your guests try to guess how many is in the jar. Closest guess wins the jar of candy.

Candy heart pick up. In the center of the table place a large bowl of candy hearts. Guests are given chopsticks and see how many they can grab using chop sticks, Set a timer and do this as a tournament.

Hearts charades. Write things to act out on cut out hearts and place in box or basket. Person chooses one and must act it out. Could be movies or songs that have the word “love” in the title, could be famous couples (like Romeo and Juliette), or could be things that naturally go together (like peanut butter and jelly).

Hearts Bingo. Make up bingo cards and use candy hearts as markers. Put words or pictures on cards that have to do with Valentines : hearts, cupid, love, February, winter, candy, chocolate, flowers, kisses….

If you have access to a video camera, let people make up valentine raps/songs and perform. Have a judging team to choose the best. Could also have a dancing contest. Match people up by having them draw a name of one person of a famous couple. Whoever has the mate of that person is their partner.

Red Licorice race. Give each person a string of red licorice. They hold one end in their mouth and put hands behind back. On the word “go” see who can eat theirs the fastest.

Hide candy kisses around the room and have guests find them. (Seems like a kids game, but everyone loves chocolate candy. Could have one or two with a special surprise attached.)

Play “hearts” card game with a deck of playing cards.

If you are mature enough not to hurt others’ feelings, have a “love note” box. Guest write notes to other guests telling them what they like about that person, something nice about them, or something to encourage them. Before they go home everyone gets their notes.

How can I decorate my dorm room for Valentine’s Day?

Does anybody have any good ideas for cute decorations for a dorm room. Nothing too weird.. just pretty/cute. 🙂 I love pink and modern look. Not like old timey and lacey. It’s a Christian college, so not bad-themed either! Thanks!
in response to answer #4… the environment is half the studying experience. and fyi.. i have a great GPA, because of my continual cute bedroom.

how about cutting red, pink, and other valentine-y colors into strips. Then make the first strip into a ring. Then put the second strip through the the ring and make THAT into a ring.

Do you follow? If you keep repeating that, you’ll get a chain of festive-ness. Its really cool looking once its finished.

so that it looks like this —> www.rosiespitutorials.com/piimages2/pchain9.gif

What if my bf doesn’t get my roses for valentines day =O?

If my bf doesn’t get me roses for valentines day I think I’m going to go crazy. Is something wrong with me?
we’ve dated for 2 years and he’s never bought me flowers. Maybe that’ll explain a little bit more on where i’m coming from.

Well…not wrong, exactly, but I think you do need to grow up. It’s pretty shallow to have so much invested in this. Think about it…why roses? Because everybody says that it should be roses? Why does he have to give them to you on Valentine’s Day? Because everybody says that’s what you do?

There are more individual and heartfelt ways of showing love.

Valentine Gift ideas for my husband?

I don’t want to spend any money. Both of our birthdays are close to Valentines so we set a $100 dollar limit total so I’d rather spend the $100 on DVD’s and video games he wants rather than Valentines day stuff.

Any ideas? I thought I could make up some coupons, but I’m not sure what for and I’ll make him brownies maybe shaped like hearts
Oh, I should mention we are treating ourselves to a nice dinner out for our birthdays/valentines day 🙂

Prepare your brownies and some additional food / bubbly and take him to the park for a picnic. Bring a very large blanket and chat about whatever while watching other people enjoying their day.
