Valentines Day party for 5 year old girls?

Hey all,
My daughter wants to have a Valentines day party, does any one have any ideas?
Im thinking about 10 girls should I open it the boys also?
What time frame would you suggest ? It would be best for me to do it from 2-5 or should I adjust and do it from 5-7 or 5-8 that way the could eat at my house and not ruin their appetites for dinner at home? It would have to be a saturday, and that would be help full not being a school night.
What things should I plan? I was think some crafts (does any one have some craft ideas that are quick and easy?) What kind of games are kid friendly and Valentines themed?
What are some food ideas?
Maybe decorating their own cupcakes? I was thinking maybe that or Ice Cream sundaes as well but don’t want to fill the kids with sweets and junk to much.
Is February 6th an acceptable date for it ? or should I just do the later time one and do it February 12th? I cant do it on the 13th due to prior arrangements
Help!!!!

I would say girls only, let them be innocent and without the pressure of boys and the meaning of Valentine’s Day. The have plenty of time down the road for boys. Plus, without the boys you can do a lot more activities geared towards girls.

I would keep the party to 3 hours and note a pick up time on the invitations. If possible an after school party can be lots of fun, especially if they can all ride the bus home. If that is not an option think about the fact some parents may not be able to give rides due to work.

I would do one craft, and maybe a few games. Just remember at this age to include you daughter in planning so your ideas are not deemed "babyish or for little girls", The Oriental Trading Co. online had tons of inexpensive ideas for crafts, favors, decorations, and themes.

As far as food, for you own pleasure I would keep it simple, you don’t wanna be stuck in the kitchen the whole party. I would do something simple like pizza, or take and bake. Then save the theme for desserts, and snacks. Prepare as much of this as you can prior to the party.

Also since you are planning ahead you could do a costume or theme party and have awards for the best "Queen of Hearts", "Cupid", "Valentine’s Diva", etc etc…

Of course any date before is fine! I’m sure your daughter and her friends will be thrilled! What a cool Mom you are to do this for your daughter. It takes a lot of planning, and some money. I wish my Valentine’s memories were of a cool party, instead of the no show Valentine’s then watching other girls be spoiled. KUDOS to you!!!

I need a Valentines dinner recipe with chicken breast and healthy?

Anyone know of a nice valentines dinner including chicken breast and something that is healthy? Thanks!!!

This isn’t fat-free, but far from unhealthy. Simple and elegant..perfect for V-Day.

***Stuffed Chicken Marsala***

6 chicken breasts
Salt
Pepper
Thyme
6 slices prosciutto
6 slices Fontina cheese
Flour, for dredging
Canola oil
10 ounces sliced mushrooms
1/2 cup marsala wine
2 cups chicken stock
1 tablespoon butter
1 tablespoon flour

Cut pockets into chicken breasts. Season pockets with salt, pepper and thyme. Stuff each breast with a slice of prosciutto and a piece of Fontina. Dip chicken breasts in flour. Heat skillet. Add oil to skillet and saute chicken breasts until brown on both sides. Remove browned chicken breasts from skillet. Add more oil if necessary. Add mushrooms to skillet and saute on high heat until browned. Mushroom liquid will start to deglaze the pan. Add Marsala to skillet and reduce by half, about 5 minutes. Add chicken stock to skillet and put chicken back to the pan. Simmer until chicken is cooked through, about 5 to 10 minutes. Transfer chicken to platter. Thicken sauce by making a buerre manie with butter and flour, and whisking it in until sauce thickens.

What should I do for decorations for a Valentine’s card?

I have a new boyfriend and Valentine’s Day is coming up. I’m making this card for him but I have no clue what to put on it.

Do you have a digital camera? If so then take a picture of the two of you, download
it onto your computer and photo crop it and print out a card with a picture of the
two of you. Add a poem that symbolizes your relationship for the inside of the card.
Then include some discount coupons from his favorite fast food place.

Is it ok to get your boyfriend roses for Valentines Day?

I want to get my boyfriend roses for v-day. Can girls do that for guys?

If your boyfriend is a sensitive, romantic- then yes. It really depends on your relationship. If he is manly, then no. However, boyfriends are entitled to love what we give them ( haha). You know your boyfriend, so you will know inside if you think he will appreciate the roses. Perhaps, you should give him candy instead of the flowers. That might work better.

Unique Valentine gift ideas for classmates?

What to give to my 25(about) close friends for Valentines? I want something unique, im getting tired of those tear out cards you get from Wal-Mart. So any ideas? Thankkk you VERY much!

Get red plastic cups, fill them with Hersey Choc kisses or some other ‘bite-size’ candy – hearts with sayings on them, sweet tarts, etc and go to the Dollar Store and get a bunch of Disney pens / mechanical pencils or even lollipops and then wrap them in cellophane and tie them with a ribbon.

What are some good valentines day ideas for my boyfriend?

Valentine’s day is also near our one month anniversary (we decided to celebrate each month) and I don’t have to much money to spent. So here are some key things in the question.

1)He loves zebras
2)I will most likely only have 30$
3)I’m going to write something
4)He skateboards and I want this present to be something romantic, and something he’ll want to keep.

Any suggestions? Or Ideas?

Hi!

How about putting together a scrapbook of your photos — maybe include ticket stubs to concerts or sporting events, notes you’ve written to each other, that sort of thing. It’s something you could do without a lot of strain. you could also do the same thing on a large piece of poster board.

Good luck and Happy Valentine’s Day!

Best — Victoria R.
