play date suggestions for kids ages 4 to 6?

please give me some suggestions for a fun play date. This will be the first play date I’m having for girls all the play dates I have held in the past were my sons male friends…the children attending are ages four five and six the five year old is my son the other two are the daughters of one of the moms at my sons school. I have know idea how to entertain girls I have sons lol. I was thinking arts and crafts maybe having the kids make home made valentines. I need some suggestions please
I plan on having parents involved as well Im thinking of serving some chai tea and perhaps finger foods I want everyone to have a fun and relaxing time

You could go somewhere like Chuck E Cheese or even to McDonalds and play on the playground equipment. If you want to stay in, girls will be interested in some of these things:

Paint nails and toes

Do their hair in braids, etc.

Cooking in the kitchen
Any type of arts and crafts. One I remeber is a house my grandmother had us make out of sugar cubes, frosting, then graham crackers at the top for the roof. It was a lot of fun! You can decorate with sprinkles or different colored frosting, etc.

Use beads and make bracelets or knecklaces.

Almost all kids love to play with mega blocks and legos. That should pass the time.

What about a good movie? Let them pick their snacks.

Do you have a wii? That is good, even at 4 years old.

Have fun!

What are some good dinner recipes for Valentine’s Day?

I would like to cook a nice meal for my fiance for Valentine’s Day. I am vegetarian but he loves his meat, so something I can cook that I could substitute out the meat would be awesome.

I have already picked out a few dessert recipes but feel free to include any if you’d like.

Thanks. 😀

I’m not certain if meat can be substituted in these recipes, but you can always give it a shot. Do you eat seafood at all? If so, there’s a great Tilapia dish found at the link below. Of course, I found great Pork Chop and Steak recipes there, too, that your fiancee will love.

I hope that helps. Good luck!

What is the most romantic thing anyone has ever done for you on Valentine’s Day?

When I was Married to my Ex Husband….our son was born on Feb. 07th…..My Ex was a firefighter at that time & he had to work on Valentine’s Day. We had arranged for me to bring him dinner at the Station & we would spend some time together before he had to go to bed…..
When I got there at 6p, My Ex Mother In Law was there & she said she was taking the baby home for a bit….& left….I went into the Station House with dinner….& My Ex had talked them into helping him decorate the house with red christmas lights & foil heart wreaths….& some other cheesy Valentine decorations…the table was lit with Candles & there was kind of music in the background…..It was really awesome to eat or Taco Bell by candle light….lol
After dinner, 2 other firefighters used the same area for dinner with their loved ones….then we hung out in the sitting room & watched movies….it was awesome….

What is your most romantic story?
OR…..what is the most romantic thing you have ever done for someone?

My boyfriend at the time gave me one if those free standing jewelry chests to match my antique furniture
in my bedroom. When I told him I didn’t have much to put in it, he pulled out a beautiful ring with a red garnet shaped like a heart, and put it on my finger. And it fit!

I was given 24 beautiful red roses for valentines day..does anyone know how i can preserve them?

I want to press one or two of them so i can keep them forever. Does anyone know how to do this? I dont have any special equiptment but am willing to buy some if needed. Also does anyone have any artistic ideas on what to do with them once pressed? Do u press the stems also?

All you need to press them is two heavy books and some kitchen towel. I have done it before and it tends to work very well, you will loose some of the colour but I’ve got a rose i got whilst in Kenya and that’s still preserved now and its still lovely. What I’d do is cut the stem either fairly short or off then lay the flower on its side on some kitchen role on top of one of the books. Its best to try and press the flower down with your fingers first and separate the petals nicely so they don’t just end up in a lump. Then put another piece of paper towel on top and the other book on top of that. Then leave it some where warm i.e. an airing cupboard for a couple of weeks. You can check on it from time to time and once its done it should feel completely dry.
Once pressed I’d put them on to something white, maybe silk (can get from hobby craft) then into a frame and put them on the wall.

Valentine gift ideas for the boyfriend?

My boyfriend has a sweet tooth and he really loves it when I buy him goodies like cupcakes, fudge brownies, and other stuff like that. This time, I want to make the goodies for him to make it more special, but the thing is, I don’t have an oven. Are there any good recipes out there that don’t require you to bake them in the oven? Something apt for the valentine’s season?

you could go to a novelty shop and get Valentine molds and make shaped Jello desserts or shaped chocolates…get some of that almond bark melt it according to the package directions and pour it in the molds You can also bake some No-Bake Cookies (shape them into hearts) and serve them on a Valentine themed tray 😉
No Bake Cookies
* 2 cups white sugar
* 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
* 1/2 cup milk
* 1/2 cup margarine
* 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
* 1 pinch salt
* 1/2 cup chunky peanut butter
* 3 cups quick cooking oats
1. In a saucepan over medium heat, combine the sugar, cocoa, milk and margarine. Bring to a boil, stirring occasionally. Boil for 1 minute, then remove from heat and stir in the vanilla, salt, peanut butter and oats.
2. Drop by rounded spoonfuls onto waxed paper. Allow cookies to cool for at least 1 hour. Store in an airtight container.
