Valentine Cookies In A Jar

♥Courtesy Is Contagious♥

Valentine Cookies In A Jar

Ingredients & Recipe for cookies
How to assemble your jar below the recipe
Mason Canning Jars
(I used Wide Mouth Mason Jars)

1 1/3 Cup all purpose flour, leveled
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon baking soda
¼ teaspoon salt
1 Cup cooking oats
¾ Cup M&M (seasonal is always fun)
¾ semi-sweet chocolate chips
½ cup brown sugar, packed
½ cup white sugar
1/3-1/2 cup chopped pecans (optional)

Stir all dry ingredients in a large mixing bowl.

Add: 1 slightly beaten egg
½ Cup butter (melted slightly)
1 teaspoon vanilla

Mix wet ingredients into dry ingredients. Use the back
of a large spoon to work it all together. You may need
to use your hands to get it all incorporated.
Roll the cookie dough into 1 ½ inch balls,
place on a parchment covered baking sheet and bake for
about 10 minutes in a preheated oven.

HOW TO ASSEMBLE:

First: flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt
Second: oats
Third: M&Ms
Fourth: chocolate chips
Fifth: brown sugar
Sixth: white sugar
Seventh: chopped pecans (optional)

Pack each level very tight otherwise it will not fit.

Cut out a 6 inch square out of your favorite material to put
on top of your jar. Label your jar with Valentine cookies
and add a tie for decorations.

**Do not forget your baking instructions to attach to your
jar.**

Label should read:
Preheat oven
To 350 degrees
Stir dry ingredients in
A large bowl and add:
½ Cup butter almost melted
1 slightly beaten egg
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Combine thoroughly
Roll into 1 ½ inch balls
& Bake for 10 minutes.

3rd grade school Valentine’s Day Party…?

I want to do something a little different for the kids. At every party its always the same ole same old! We have cookies, cupcakes, chips, pop, blah blah blah..I can handle the same old foods, but what about games? Does anyone have ideas for anything fun or exciting for games or crafts? Our party is only about an hour long. Thanks for your help! 🙂

Have the kids make picture frames adorned with hearts and cupids. They sell the group packets in Michael’s craft store or any other arts n crafts store. They can then wrap it up in red and pink tissue paper and bring it home to their moms and/or dads for Valentines.

Can anyone recommend a good recipe for a Valentines Day Dinner???

My husband and I are really on a shoestring budget right now and it is looking more and more like we will have to do Valentines Dinner at home.

In the past we have always opted to go out for V-Day (partly because neither one of us wants to get stuck with a pile of dishes on Valentines Day)…

Anway, I am wondering if anyone has any great ideas/recipes for a Valentine’s Dinner…The ingredients would have to be something not to expensive also…

Any positive input appreciated!!!

P.S.- I am a pretty good cook when I have the time, so it doesn’t have to be too simple…I’m just looking for something interesting and different than a regular weeknight’s meal.

There is a recipe on foodnetwork called grilled new york strip steak with chocolate merlot sauce. Its what I’m making for my hubby. You don’t have to buy a really expensive wine just one that you would enjoy drinking. Hope I helped.

I got this pot of little roses for valentines day, how do I take care of them properly?

They are blooming and everything, but someone mentioned clipping the buds so they grow more or something?

They need lots of sunshine and will do best if planted outdoors.

Look here for ideas: http://www.backyardgarden.info/tinyroses.php

Valentine’s gift ideas for a serious boyfriend?

My boyfriend and I are both 18 years old. He’s 2 hours away from me right now in college and I’ll be staying with him the weekend of Valentine’s Day. We’ve been seriously dating for about 5 months, but when the semester is over we’re moving in together. I want to get him something special but I can’t think of anything creative, just the usual candy a card stuffed animal blah blah. Any creative ideas?

I looked over the Top 10 list Maggie posted, and my favorite is the digital photo frame. I got my fiance one for Christmas, and he really loves it. Plus, it’s something you can both enjoy when you move in together, so it’s almost like a housewarming present to yourselves 🙂 I got mine here digitalframehq.com and loaded it with all my favorite pictures of us and our dog before giving it to him. Hope this helps!

My Daughter Is In The 9th Grade But Still Wants To Give Her Friends Something For Valentines Day! Ideas?

Yeah, I Know, They Dont Give Cards Anymore But What Would Be A Good Idea For Her To Give Her Friends.

Also, What Do I Get My Husband? It Seems Like Valentines Day Is The Hardest To Buy Gifts For.

Have her buy various candy and make gift bags for her friends. Can’t go wrong with candy!

Do a scrapbook for him. Have various pictures, memories, poems, and etc. in it, and decorate it however you want. Or make a collage for his room. Gather plenty of pictures of you both together, have the poster cut as a heart, and just go at it! You could even have a poem in the middle, or have little items that bring back memories.. such as movie ticket stubs and things like that.

Get him one of those huge Hershey Kisses, unwrap the foil, and add cute little notes inside. Then wrap it up so it’ll be a complete surprise. Maybe have the 12 main reasons you love him inside.

Love coupons of various things of your choice. If you need examples, check online. Many websites have some that you can print out. Here’s one of the websites:
http://www.whodoyoulove.com/lovecoupons/

Have his favorite dinner and some chocolate covered strawberries for dessert. Light candles and have rose petals everywhere. Later on, have a romantic bath for two with nice bath salts, more rose petals, and candles. You could even get some massage oils if you’re good with your hands to make him feel extra good. Spend the evening watching a movie you both enjoy, simply spending time together. For a present, maybe get something sexy to wear or get him some cologne.

Get either a heart-shaped box of chocolates, or make some goodies yourself. Some ideas are a heart-shaped cake, brownies, and cupcakes. You could write “I love you” and various little sayings on them to put a smile on his face, and decorate them with Valentine‘s Day themed sprinkles. Or get chocolate covered strawberries. On the serving platter you could write something cute in chocolate or frosting.
